Love and Honor

This one brought tears to my eyes. Ezra dares to admit that he's a scoundrel to this beautiful and young chinese girl. And yet, for a southerner who still has problems connecting with Nathan, Anthony Starke was "AMAZING". Just like the my favoritr song from LONE STAR. The tender kiss was a nice change. I knew that man had it in him to love and honour but he still lacks "team spirit". The joke plyed on Buck between JD and Inez was hilarious. JD did a grat job prentending to want Buck in joining him for a swim. Great show.

My heart still skips a beat when I hear the theme song and see Michael Biehn's face.

This show must do like the energizer bunny: "keep going and going". I hope TNN re-airs all the past episodes this summer.

Just listening to Ezra speak could expand our vocabularies immensely! ;)

I am continually amazed at the words he comes up with!
Very fun to hear.

Glad I could help out.... ;)

Happy Trails! Shal...

Dear Shal, you are right! A gigger is just what you said. Personally, I'd rather dig than gig, but you certainly taught us all something today. So now we know what a frog gigger is. The things we can learn from this show is just amazing. Another reason to watch: expand your vocabulary!!

Hey Sandy! Thought I would tell you what a frog gigger is... :)

A gig is a something you spear a fish (or frog) with...
If you look at the tool JD is holding, it looks like a small pitchfork.

There you go, girl! ;)

Shal...someone who has no place in her heart for frogs,
but wouldn't dream of using anything like that on any living thing! ;)

You know, I remember growing up watching westerns all the time and the shows like The Big Valley and Bonanza would most times feature only one or two of their main characters. The others would be off buying cattle or whatever and would not be in that particular episode. What I like about the Mag 7 is that in each episode we get to see all our guys. Even though an episode might mainly feature on one main topic, one way or another all these guys are brought into play. They are all so important to each other and they play off each other so well. This was a wonderful episode. We get to see Buck in a serious mood handling his "problem" just as he should. Just as a true gentleman and protector of women. They were all good in everything they did, all the story lines played so well into each other. And correct me if I am wrong, but I'm wondering if what J.D. wants to buy his lady friend is a frog digger? Something to dig the frogs out of the sand or mud. I've heard people pronounce it differently and this is what I think he said. Anyhow, wonderful story. I enjoy this show so much. I say that every time I write in, but it is pure enjoyment. A Martinez was magnifico himself. Just great. I want another movie!!!!

Is it my imagination, or are the episodes getting better and better with each new show? I am truly enjoying this show and I am so sorry that it will have to come to an end...

"Love and Honor" was really fun and entertaining.
I literally LOL and that is something pretty hard to make me do. The comedy in this episode was quick and witty and I loved it! :)

The stories were interesting and I held my breath the entire time as each unfolded. I was feeling each of the different characters emotions with them!

Buck's story was great! His feelings of chivalry and his pride were intense and I admired him for wanting to help Inez, but Chris was right, he was being too stubborn and his pride was getting the best of him.
I understand the fight scene was shot with the actors doing the entire sword fight all the way through...the director did not call, "CUT!" so they just kept at it! WOW! It was very exciting! I was on the edge of my seat and gasping with each slice of the blades!

JD and Casey were adorable! :)) I just love them together!
The fishing scene was sooo cute and JD asking for the date (Josiah waving to Casey LOL) and the horseback ride were such fun to watch. :))

Josiah and JD were fun too! LOL (Like Josiah can give "advice on courting?" I don't THINK so! ;) So far I haven't seen him have too much luck in that department.) Ahh well...

Chris and Raphael antagonizing each other was fun to watch.
I liked that story line very much.

Vin, the protector of all, was always present and a hero as usual! ;) He's still the one I would want watching over me! LOL

Nathan's background information was added to and it helped me to understand a lot about him, even told us where his name came from, which was very interesting....Fun to watch the practice with the sword, and especially Buck imitating Ezra! LOL! ;)

Ezra was fun. Placing bets on Buck's fight was very funny and I love to hear the dialog he spouts! Always a treat!

I watched it twice now, and I know I will watch this episode again and again! Kudos to the writers for this one!! :)

Adios, amigas and amigos! Until we meet again! Shal...

Well, don't know that I can add much to what's already been said, but I'll give it a try:)

I loved the fact that while everyone was concentrating on Buck, and how he was going to risk himself in the duel -- there's our intrepid hunter/hunted all around great guy shadowing Inez, keeping her safe; backing up Chris at the shack; backing up Buck on the street; helping to keep the pistoleros honest, and no one seemed to notice. "You better get used to seein' me."

The swordfight and duel scenes were great! I loved watching Ezra and Buck and Nathan. I cringed at the thought of what it would have been like to be a young slave forced to learn to duel 'on the run'. But poor Buck! Exactly how many sword scars does he have now????? Midkiff was excellent as usual!

Chris, ever the man of conviction. It was great to see him telling Buck he was behind him even if he didn't believe in what he was doing.

J.D. -- Poor guy! If he'd listened to his heart, he would have just gotten Casey that frog gigger in the first place and not gone through all that anxiety:) And his poor hat!

Josiah, the poor guy never seems to get much sleep at night in these shows. Always the rock, there for the others to latch on to when things are bad.

And Ezra, ever the entrepreneur. But, I LOVED his reaction when he saw that Buck was going to duel. He dropped his little book like it had caught fire!!

As always, excellent. Would have loved to have seen more of Martinez's character in the series. Think that could have been interestin'!

Well, reckon I found more t' say than I figgered on, pards:)

I'm glad Nathan got a little more to do in this episode! After seeing Rick Worthy play an ineffectual (and bald) bad guy on Voyager last night, it was good to see him in proper heroic form again. The whole dueling incident reminded me of an incident from 1870s-ish San Francisco: a proposed duel was called off when the challenged party chose meat cleavers for the weapon. Better a meat cleaver than a chainsaw. I suppose . . . .

I loved this episode!!!Did anyone notice the great chemistry between Inez and Vin!!!I always wish this could have explored in greater detail. I thought Michael Biehn looked especially yummy as Chris in this ep. Even his hair looked a little better and less red. He certainly does look great in black jeans! On the other hand, J.D's hair was a mess!!!Long, stringy, and dirty! I did like J.D. and Casey and Josiah's courting lessons were a hoot! This was another great example of the wonderful chemistry that exists between all the actors. Plus, it was a very well written episode. Just another illustration of how good this show was compared to the mediocre offering that CBS is giving us now.

WOW!!! What a show!!! Where do I begin to talk about this show?

Buck: What a man!! Even getting his butt kick, he refused to back down. That man would stand up for a woman in a skinny minute..**SIGH**. It was funny watching him shadowing Ezra as he was doing the sword moves. Dale Midkiff was just outstanding in this show.

Chris:It was so nice to see him smile. It was also nice to see him tell Buck he was behind him, even though he disagreed with him earlier. It would have been interesting to see him and Raphael duel. Those two were very good together.

JD and Casey:Those two are just sooo cute together. And JD's poor hat...Guess Buck got his wish cause its a dead soldier now!!!..LOLOL!

Ezra and Nathan:They were so great teasing Buck and later in their sword duel...Outstanding. Ezra might have thought the initial duel was funny but you could tell he was concerned for Buck when he saw it was to be with swords. Nathan was great showing Buck how to fight and then being there with him.

Vin:Wow!! Where can I get me a protector like that? As usual he was very good. He made sure Inez was safe...**sigh**

Josiah:His talk with Buck altho' hard to hear(wonder if there was a sound problem)was very good. Trying to help his friend get over his nightmare. Solid as rock as always.

This was just a wonderful show. The sword fight kept me on the edge of my seat. Everytime Buck got hit I just jumped. I need to watch it again.

I loved seeing the sword fighting scene,it was well choreographed. As a former theatre student,it brought back memories of all those classes in falling, and fighting. In many ways it brought out more of the Japanese version the Seven Samurai, with the part of the storyline dealing with sword fighting. It was a classic, guy falls for girl, guy fights for girl. It is what most of the old movies were based on.
How Nathan's past was brought worth, was excellent and although you can feel the pain of that character it also brought admiration on his skills by the other characters. This episode revealed more about each characters pasts, than the others, giving us a clearer insight on them.

I enjoyed this episode very much. Was very glad to see it return, for hopefully the beginning of a long run. Being a fan of all the guys, especially Dale Midkiff, I was glad to see him on screen as much as he was. Of course Buck was a delight being his heartbreaking self.:)I hope this show goes into syndication like other great shows, would love to see the ones I've had to miss. ;) Keep up the good works guys. With all of this positive feedback, does this mean that CBS will be putting the show on fulltime next season? That would be great. I, like so many others, love westerns. I grew up watching John Wayne, and loved seeing A Martinez back in the saddle and hope to see his character return.

I think that all of the cast are doing a great job, and I'm enjoying the show immensely.

I really enjoyed Love and Honor. It had the right balance of action and story. Inez the firey latina in the cantina is a great addition to the cast. I would also like to see A Martinez come back as Rafael, maybe as an alternate to the "7" and mix up the group dynamic. There was chemistry with MB as Chris and A Martinez's Rafael. I would love to see an outside project between these two actors someday.

Looking forward to the remaining episodes!

You guys have a new active M7 fan-I love the show! I saw the first season in the summer repeats and was hooked- been lurking for the longest time!

Ep was really great! Chris and Buck were particularly effective, and Vin saves all.(Ezra too) Everyone who taped the show- watch it again and catch the look on Chris's face when JD shoots his own hat- what an adorable smile!Vin and Chris showed more interaction with other members of the gang- and that was great!

I don't think I like him with Inez- it's too much, too soon.

Can't wait 'till Friday!

"Love And Honor" carried us off again on another great ride! Each episode builds on the relationships between the pards and introduces issues that we, today, can still address and ponder. Buck gave us a different view of him (well, more than one it seems!). He proved how he truly does respect, love and honor women by taking a stand to defend Inez and her rights as a woman. Buck is such a charmin' fella but this episode showed the depth of Buck's heart though he had nothing personal to gain but his own honor by followin' through and standin' strong despite unfair circumstances yet we still see his humorous side, his tender side, as well as the deep-seated anger over injustice.

The threads of love and honor were woven throughout each sub-plot and truly epitomizes a major issue behind these characters: greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for another. And these pards do so emotionally, mentally, spiritually, soulfully, and bodily in each episode. These threads could be visualized in some way in each scene and in each pairing of characters.

JD and Casey are a winsome couple and I so enjoyed the old-fashioned courtin' concept. Casey and JD both are achangin' and agrowin' as "youngsters" testin' the waters of "first romances" and it is so well-written and performed that it causes one to yearn for times of old when life and romance were simpler and honorably pursued. Dana Barron is a keeper and hopefully she will become a more vital role as the series endures. Ezra and Nathan surprised us with their knowledge and expertise with the rapier. Nathan revealed a painful truth about the origin of his name and a skill of survival he gained at the hand of his slavemaster...a powerful but poignant scene. And Ezra's acknowledgment that Nathan was the better-skilled of the two and thus the better teacher for Buck revealed the respect Ezra has building for Nathan as a man and as a pard. Yet Ezra has yet to completely be redeemed as he sought to make a profit on the confidence he had in Buck. Chris and the fact that he is "re-building" reveals how he is beginning to look forward in life and not dwelling only on his grief and search for vengeance in behalf of his wife and son yet that spark of intense anger and danger remains just at surface level. Chris and Vin continue to build on their friendship/brotherhood and always set a scene intensely. Michael and A Martinez displayed a keen chemistry as Chris and Raphael and invites the possibilities of future performances by A. Excellent character and performance there by A. Jesse Borrego as Don Paolo can sure perform villainously and die well deservedly...HA! And the introduction of Inez lit up the fire a tad bit more. It played well to have Mary reach out to Inez...a younger woman who could truly develop a kinship with Mary as single women attempting to survive in the harsh world of the west. And Inez has a chemistry with the fellas as well. Ah, and how the Hispanic influence on the culture and history of the west could be so richly portrayed with the addition of these characters. Josiah's counsel to both JD and Buck was such an added treasure...his knowledge and wisdom is given with wit and depth both and touches the sublime with tenderness but realistically. Yet Josiah can come across as whimsical and pointed. And Vin...always there quietly and in strength to lend a helpin' hand to someone in need. Once again in the background but solidly so. Any scene in which Vin participates is one of action be it emotionally, mentally, or physically. This character touches something in our core and causes us to want to be as still yet deep and strong as Vin. It is an excellent ensemble that has a rapport and chemistry among each and every one of the cast and the guest stars that is unique and captivating. It certainly came across once again in this episode that this show deserves the opportunity to build and develop its deepening and ever enrichening qualities. It has a potential audience waiting to look up to heroes once again...heroes who are bigger than life in some ways, but so reflecting the flaws of human nature overcome by selfless giving of themselves to help the oppressed and those in need. Amen? Amen!

Good show...and I agree with what someone said a bit down the messages about adding too many women and "hooking" everyone up. Chris has Mary and JD has Casey which is fine...but anything more may be going a bit far. Inez is nice, but should be kept to a minimum in the shows if she sticks around. But if they insist on matching her up (w/ on of the 7)...definitely Ezra (maybe Buck. She kind of go an "inside" look at him in Sins Of The Past with the bar scene...

Maybe just being protective because he understands her fear. Anyway, keep 'em comin' CBS -- the Magnificent Seven is the greatest!!

MAGNIFICO!!! What an undrstatement. I loved it all. I'm speaking in very choppy sentences ... oops! didn't mean to type that out loud (I realize I'm not making sense, gimme a second).

Back to show:

I really enjoyed everyone's performances, from Ezra and Nathan teaching Buck how to fence, to Chris and A Martinez's character, to JD and Casey, to Vin protecting ... well, everybody. More Inez, that was great, she's awesome (Okay, so being a latina I'm a bit biased, so what.)

"Bucklin"- I laughed, I cried, it was all good.

Shout out to Jessie Borraga (sorry if I spelled that wrong)- I kept hearing the FAME theme in my head and looking for Nia Peeples, but that's me.

Okay, I'll stop rambling now ... off to Poetry class I go (NO more Walt Whitman please!!)

Done rambling now, really,

Hi, all! Gotta say I loved this ep!! It was the best so far this season!! Great balance of drama and humor, no multiple storylines jockeying for attention, and a lot of very nice quiet scenes which added to the impact! Classic M7!

Loved the opening when Vin popped up to save Chris’s bacon. And wasn’t Jesse Borrego great as Don Paulo? Very sly and arrogant, the perfect ‘bad seed’. Can’t guess his dad was too sad to see him ride off. Loved the A Martinez character too, and I defintely think he should come back. He and Chris had some great scenes together-I loved how they both instantly ‘knew’ each other. Chris knew Raphael wouldn’t shoot him in the back-he could recognize the man’s integrity. Raphael is a good man caught in a bad situation-Don Paulo’s father is an honorable man but his son isn’t, but because of his debt Raphael has to follow DP’s orders. But in the end he made a tough but right decision and is now on the run with a price on his head-so I guess he’s sort of a combo of Chris and Vin. But he’s his own character too-I’d love to see him return!

Dale Midkiff did a great acting job in this ep!! He was able to run through a pretty full gamut of emotons here-one minute he’s flirting with Inez, then he’s defending her, then he’s confessing his fear to Josiah and going through with it anyway because it’s the only way he can live with himself. Liked the Buck and Chris stuff too-wonder why Chris said they knew each other 10 years and Buck said 12? I think for two years after Chris’s family was killed Buck couldn’t be said to ‘know’ Chris because Chris was so angry and bitter. Either that or someone’s math is off. :)

I really liked seeing Ezra and Buck and Nathan just sittin around smokin’ cigars and playing poker. Ezra and Nathan seem to have a lot of fun ribbing Buck-those two appear to be getting along better. That whole scene was a hoot!

Loved their swordfight scene too!! Ezra looked good but Nathan looked great-he had the ‘eye of the tiger’, I guess. To Ezra swordfighting was a kind of game but Nathan had to learn it to survive-the deadly look on his face when he was fighting Ezra definitely made me think he was flashing back to fighting with his master. I think it even surprised Nathan-he blinked a bit. Ezra did look a little taken aback at hearing of Nathan’s slave experience too-that was a great scene all around!

As for Ezra’s betting on the duel, that was right on for Ezra-he was perfectly confident Buck would win so he saw nothing wrong with it. I thought it was great how he threw down the book after realizing that Buck might get killed now that the duel was to be with swords-he couldn't bear to take the bets anymore because now his friend might get killed. Great little scene there! Still, he did honor the bets he'd already taken, and it was nice to see him actually come out ahead!

Loved the JD and Casey stuff-very cute! Andy and Dana Barron have great chemistry, I'm glad to see they're working with it to such charming effect! And I really like Inez too, she's a strong woman and a great 'gal pal' for the guys.

But this was one great ep!!! One to stand beside the best of last season I’d say. The pacing was perfect, great integration of plots, and lots of nice little character moments. And of course I just love the way A Martinez said “Magnifico!” at the end-kinda summed it all up, I think.

Another fantastic episode! Gotta get this comment out of the way FIRST-There's the Vin's hat I love! Thanks for bringing it back! The acting in this ep was superb. Buck's scene with Josiah was my favorite. Loved the new things that were revealed about Nathan's name, his fencing, Ezra's fencing, Inez's past, Buck's and Chris's relationship. I felt that this ep was terrific in the way that it strengthed my opinions on all of the characters. It made me care about Buck even more than I already did and I appreciated the fact that more depth was shown to Nathan. Love that Vin was helping Inez to make a stand. Inez is great! And Vin, well, again he shows himself to be extraordinarily empathetic, understanding, and strong. The relationship evolution between JD and Casey is soooo cute. JD actually made me THUD a bit. "Fly's open" and the target practice with his hat were hilarious moments that blended well with other moments in the ep. Loved the "Easy now, Bucklin!" It was very deep and I've continued to contemplate its messages since it aired. Thanks for giving me something to "ponder!"

This was more like it, pardners! I loved this episode even more than the first two of this season. They are getting better every week just like we were promised!

The chemistry among the cast is really starting to shine again and the relationships between the characters that we all loved are finally being explored.

A Martinez was wonderful as Raphael! I've been a fan of his ever since he starred in "The Cowboys" with John Wayne! Way to go, A! And I loved the interplay between Raphael and Chris...lots of potential there for future story lines.

But I must admit I was very impressed with the complete range of emotions and superb acting ability displayed by Dale. Up to this point, we've seen Buck as a bit of a buffoon and a clown, a western version of a playboy! But Dale showed us the deeper and more caring side of Buck as well as the very real human side of him too. The conversation between Buck and Josiah the night before is beautiful and touching as is Buck's explanation to Inez as to why he must go through with this course of action. He is a man of honour!

JD and Casey are just too cute for words and I can't wait to see how this story progresses!

And please, don't change JD's hat! I loved how Raphael and Chris both shot it up and then JD gives it a proper burial by shooting it himself, but...that bowler hat makes JD unique and different, something you can identify as his signature, just like Ezra and his ace of spades!

Keep 'em coming, guys 'cause they're getting better and better every week! And I'm actively recruiting viewers every day so tell Eric I've recruited my one person many times over!

I was glad to see J.D. and Chris talking more , in the other episodes they barely ever talk ., You can actually tell that J.D. actually looks up to Chris .

It was kind of a change for the show when the guys fought with swords usually its guns !! But it was a very, very good change to see that.

I can't wait untill next weeks episodes

To say that this episode was "just OK" is a definate understatment. Everything in this episode just clicked and fit together. I liked the dream sequence/flashback that Buck experienced. But I think that my 2 most favorite parts were the excellent one-liners and witty comebacks, not to mention the oh-so subtle but effective "looks" that the actors carried off. This brilliant combination of comedy and drama coupled with suberb timing and physical acting is definately going to keep me coming back for more! Keep up the good, no I mean, GREAT work!

Philadelphia, PA USA - Sunday, January 24, 1999 at 01:03:17 (CST)

I liked this episode, not as much as the first two of the season, but it was nice.

Poor JD, now he has to get a new hat.

Blessings to whoever decided to Finally use Nathan. His and Ezra's sword fight was great.

I like Inez, but only if we get her in Very, Very small doses.

I think that this adding more women to the show is going a little too fast. Do we really need these guys "hitched" to someone when we (the viewers) still don't know alot about them. Lets keep Inez, Mary and Casey for now.

By the way, has anyone seen Little Billy? I mean don't you think that he wanted to see the fight too?

Great Chemistry between Chris and Rapheal. We definatly need A. Martinez to come back for another apperance.

Carlyle, IL USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 22:17:49 (CST)

This episode was truly magnificent! Although I liked the content of last week's episode, there were too many storylines- I was overwhelmed. This time on the other hand, the episode had a single focal point, and I liked that.

However, I did feel a bit confused. In Sins of the Past, it seemed like there was a potential relationship between Inez and Ezra, but now it seems she may end up with Buck, or even Vin. That's fine, but I still think Ezra needs someone- to match wits with and open up to.

CBS...don't ignore this great advantage to have over networks. There's a myriad of people who love westerns, and right now your the only major network that offers one. Pick them up for at least two or three more seasons!! (And keep the cast intact- all the actors are great- especially Anthony Starke as Ezra.)

MA USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 21:55:26 (CST)

This is definately one of my favorties. The show itself is my favorite. What I liked best is how the guys weren't paired up the same. Like Chris and Vin, or Buck. I love how Chris and JD had more scenes together, especially since JD looks up to Chris so much. I loved how he thought he needed to protect Chris in the saloon. I also loved how Ezra and Nathan had more interaction that wasn't filled with hostility, since they tend to have conflicting views. It was nice to see them getting along. The fight scene was great! Of course I don't know if a person could really be that good after just one day of practicing.

Andalusia, AL USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 21:21:36 (CST)

Lots of interesting pairing this week. Buck with Nathan and Josiah great scenes with both. Once again Dale does a great job!!! Loved the JD/Casey stuff and I really like Inez and PLEASE bring back A. Martinez as Raphael the scenes with Raphael and Chris were great. Good scene between Mary and Inez and Inez and Buck. Ezra was back to himself but I liked how he wanted Buck to stand down and WOW great Ezra/Nathan scene when they were fencing.

I think this is my fav so far.

Weymouth, MA USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 21:02:19 (CST)

CBS has just got to keep this show going. It gets better every week. I loved last weeks episode and this weeks episode in different ways. This weeks episode focused on one subject which I enjoyed more. Last week was the amazing acting of Eric Close as Vin but it had more than one topic.

Dale Midkiff was wonderful as the feature this week. He showed a variety of emotion as a man of honor, sensitive, light hearted, with a lot of pride. His interaction with Chris was a feeling of true history and friendship between them.

Nathan and Ezra were great sparring together when Nathan cut the candles behind him and the look on Ezra's face.

Chris and JD's relationship was played out well. JD is always ready to defend. His poor hat-he even shot it himself. JD's courting Casey was comical but true of young love.

Chris/Michael Biehn was great in this episode with his fast draw and overall ruggedness. He is contradictory, tough yet gentle and protective.

Vin-always to the rescue in this episode. First Chris, then Buck and then Inez. Quite the guy.

Syracuse, NY USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 18:58:53 (CST)

What the heck is a Frog Gigger? This episode was a let down after the first few shows. Looking forward to more scenes between Mary and Chris. This show needs more romance to go with all the action. The best part of this episode was that Chris shot JD's stupid hat. Looking forward to the next episode-

MAGNIFICENT!! is the only word to describe the show and this episode. They just keep getting better each week. Keep up the good work cast and crew. My parents and I watch every week.

CA USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 18:35:46 (CST)

Another great show!! It's hard to choose which show has been the best, but since Buck is my favorite M7 guy I'd have to pick this one. Wasn't he great! The mix of humor, friendships, good over evil is wonderful writing. This is my favorite show ever. I clear my calendar to stay home on Friday nights now. What a way to start the weekend. I hope Mag7 is on for a long long time.

Best one so far! Liked the scene between Chris and Buck and then Buck and Josiah. They bring out their pesonalities and feelings the best. The best stories are the ones about them (like Inmate 78). Chris actually has a quirkiness to him. Must be that smile (sigh).

All seven (and Mary) are so good; all their scenes seem too short, but then it wouldn't be an ensemble show.

The characters are really developing and I hope CBS asks for more than 13 episodes. My heart skips a beat when I see the ratings. They've gotta go up more right, or am I panicking too soon?

DM was great, and MB in the beginning with his holster over his shoulder was cool. Keep 'em comin'!

Arlington, MA USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 17:29:59 (CST)

Another great show! I especially liked the sparring scene with Ezra and Nathan. I didn't get to see enough Vin, but he was dependable as always in his protection of Inez. I think that Ezra and Inez are a more likely romance, though. I was surprised that Chris would be putting down roots before he found his family's killer. I'm glad this page is here to see what others thought of the episodes, even if I don't always agree ( I liked Sins of the Past better).

Corpus Christi, TX USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 15:43:16 (CST)

This show is the best! The character of each guy makes it very entertaining. The guys are all great to look at. We enjoy the action, humor, fun and romance they each provide. The sword fight really gave Buck a challenge.Keep this show on with all the cast. Together they are great!

This was exelent!! I love the J.D and the girl thing! I have to admit the sword fight did keep me on the edge of my seat! Keep up the good work, and J.D hurry up and kiss her:)

I really enjoyed this episode. I do think this thing with JD and the tomboy has been done in other shows to death. (a frog gigger?) Come on, kiss her already. I admit, I got just a bit worried in the sword fight. They had focused on the fact that A. Martinez was really a good guy deep down. For a small moment I saw the possibility of Buck being fatally wounded and A. Martinez taking his place in the Seven. I am so thankful that did not happen. M7 without Buck would be like M6 + 1 and it just wouldn't work. Now I am regressing back to the first season's opening episode. Am I sick or did anyone else think that the way Chris escaped from the handcuffs by spitting on his hand was sexy? All my friends think I am sick. Keep up the good work with the Seven. I enjoy reading everyone's thoughts on the show.

I watched the show with my family and loved it! My two boys are 10 and 12 and they loved it too. So, did my husband. We love westerns and this show is great! The "Honor" episode was the best one yet! Sword play, good vs evil the whole bit! Keep up the great writing! Cymru40

Raphael Cordoba de Martinez said it best: MAGNIFICO! Hats off to A Martinez for his guest role - wonderful job!!

In my opinion, best show yet! Great camaraderie among the boys. Some fabulous lines and an excellent story. Sins of the Past fell below my expectations. Love and Honor far exceeded my expectations.

Thanks for a great episode - I hope this high level of performance pervades the rest of the season.

Let 'em ride!!

Fond du Lac, WI USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 11:37:10 (CST)

To me the best episode ever of the best show in TV! The sword fight was great. I like the posibility of other spinofs from this one, like Don Pablo's father comes back to revenge the dead of his son. I also liked that Chris did not have to kill anybody to show how good he is with the 6-shooter. Although I do not know his name the other gun-slinger could come back in this episode.

I love the idea of Chris building a home, but it looks like it is going to be blown away in the next episode. I also want to say that when Chris smiles, oh he just melts my heart. =)

The sword fighting was great. I thought it was a great twist to have instead of just another gun fight.

I agree that Ezra should come out on top every now and then. They should bring in a love interest for him. Someone that could match him wit for wit.

Pittsburgh, Pa USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 09:23:48 (CST)

This show blended better, but not enough Vin. Do not want to see him end up with Inez. She's alright(in very small doses). Keep up the good work, and PLEASE more Vin!

Celina, OH USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 09:17:37 (CST)

I thought the episode was fantastic. Buck's character finally got some drama which was needed. I liked the development between JD and Casey. Dana Barron is an excellent actress. The dual between Nathan and Ezra was hilarious, but I think Ezra should have kicked his butt. Just once I'd like to see Ezra come out the winner against one of the seven. He always seems to be the "seventh". And the way he bet on the fight - he was the Ezra we all know and love. The sword fight was amazing. I couldn't say anything bad about this show. It's the best!

I'm still looking for tapes of the first season eps. If anyone has the eps they could possibly recopy, I would be happy to cover expenses. E-mail me.

This episode is my favorite of the new episodes so far. Each episode is getting better and better. When more episodes are in development, I hope Mr. Watson will consider bringing back A Martinez as Raphael. My only disappointment with this episode was that there were not more scenes between him and Michael Biehn. I think those two could have really had some explosive confrontations on screen! :-)

Daleville, Al USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 00:23:09 (CST)

Mag 7 is the best show ever aired, So, Glad that the boys are back in town! My favorite so far is "Sins of the Past".

As far as what viewers wrote about the first two shows, I must say this!

Chris & JD, about hair cuts, back in that time, they didn't get hair cuts every 6 wks. Chris & Vin, Chris will stand my any of his men, as we saw with Buck, in Love & Honor.

Vin- Most wanted to see more of him, now we do, Eric, is doing a great job!!!

NEW HAT, so that we can see his georgeous face & blue eyes.Jacket is better, not as long. Be sure, to see Vin

& Inez fall in Love, I'm not sure if I like this , being a huge VIN FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

JD- using gunbelt, as a coatrack, shows that he, is more relax, &sure of himself, and glad to see that he is maturing, at a slow pace, we don't want to see him grow up to fast.JD/Casey Great together.

Josiah- Scene with dog was great! Yes , we do need to see more of him.

Nathan- Him too, would like to see more. With Nathan, be friending Erza,

you must remember, that they were not best of friends, when they first met.

Buck - Is not becoming a clown, as we saw in Love & Honor!

Erza- Maude & Erza, have a great relationship, that meets with their own

characteristic behavior. She must keep him on his toes. Deep down, they do care for each other. Erza, does have too many scenes, SORRY,

Erza Fans, BUT I'M A VIN FAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Love & Honor, another terrific show,, not much humor in this show. Next wk looks awesome.

I do have to say this, They the (producers/writers) must cram alot cause they only have 13 shows to produce, which probably take 2 wks to shoot, for 40 mins air time. We must concentrate, & try to get more viewers to watch first, and hope that, they are back for good, and don't kickpick, on how we all would like each show.

BE PATIENT & ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absecon, N.J USA - Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 00:05:04 (CST)

All I can say is WOW! The entire episode was great! Inez is really a fiery character, and her scenes with the other seven where terrific. I practically wanted to kill Ezra for betting on the fight (well not really) and I'm sure Nathan and Josiah wanted to the same. Chris building a home? I was quite suprised. As Vin said I can't see him settling down. And hearing more from Nathan was great. We get to see a little more of his past. Everyone played their part perfectly, we each saw them in what they did best. By the way, didn't anybody else notice Ezra writing with his left at the end?

maryland hts, MO USA - Friday, January 22, 1999 at 23:35:13 (CST)

Finally I am doing a happy dance!

This episode ranks up there with my favorites from last year. I thought the pacing was finally right, and the humor was not forced, and everything just "gelled".

I loved the little peek at Buck and Chris' past. Micheal Biehn was spot on in all his scenes this week (like that's unusual...NOT) I especially liked his interaction with Rafael (I think that was his name...the other gunfighter dressed in black.) Kind of confident, but knowledgably cautious. I almost want Rafael to come back, maybe with Francis from the Pilot...

Ezra being bested by Nathan in a swordfight. Yay! Nathan is finally coming into his own and actually doing something. And we finally get to see Josiah do his "pastoral counselling" with both Buck and JD. My only quibble is that Ezra was just a little too happy and chummy with the others this week after losing the saloon last, but that was really minor.

Dale Midkiff gave a wonderful, wonderful performance. I shouldn't have been surprized. I was one of those who were unhappy with him in the past two because I thought his character had gotten too goofy, and THIS was the Buck I was waiting for. I like that Inez was grateful, but didn't just flop into his arms because he fought in her honor. Nice touch with the favor.

Mary and Inez work well together. I hope Inez stays as a reoccuring character. Mary is 3 for 3. I guess that means she's here to stay!

The JD/Casey story line was just this side of cringeable, which was perfect for it.

I hope the rest are this good or better!

I loved the ep. It was so funny. We have got more fans of the show that are newbies and we are proud of what they have done. We need more so don't give up on the fight we need more fans. I'm definetly one and one of a million who got this show back. I will be starting my own website soon so it will be a ball. I wonder if Buck and Inze get's together in it. Buck needs to shave the mustash and that will definetly get girls to come to him more.

That was one excellent episode i especially loved the blood be poured during the sword fight and the shooting up of JD's hat was just EXCELLENT!!!!

Pelham, ON Canada - Friday, January 22, 1999 at 21:34:47 (CST)

This ep was awesome! I enjoyed the comedy and drama Dale personified for Buck. You could really see his fear and I like the reference they made back to the pilot when he was wounded by Col. Anderson. Considering how much Buck likes women, the duel he fought was extremely plausible. The fight kept me on pins and needles and I am glad it was true to form showing Buck's lack of skill but determination to overcome. I liked the fact that Nathan was given a chance to outshine the others when it came to fighting even if it was EZRA who was taught a lesson.

There was not enough EZRA or VIN but I am biased towards them so I'll learn to accept it! .

I really enjoyed the interaction between Chris and Raphael. I hope A Martinez comes back in future eps. He would be an excellent addition to the cast. I loved the scene where Chris shoots JD's hat to pieces and Raphael says "Magnifico!" What else could it be but MAGNIFICENT!?

I am ready for next week now! Bring on the 7 and long may they ride!

What can I say?? Another MAGNIFICENT Show!!..I really like the JD/KC story, they are so cute together!!! I was glad to see that Nathan played an important role with Buck this evening, instead of Chris and Vin always being the helping heroes..although, Vin can be a helping hero anytime! :) I thought that Josiah was great at giving advice to both JD with "Courting" and Buck with "fear of fighting." Still had great humor and the sword fight was an added bonus to a different style of fighting! Great Job, once again!!!!

CBS, KEEP ON WATCHING!!! Thank you for another memorable episode..already waiting too long for the next one!
